Hello My Name Is...
Hi!! My name is Caroline (Scott) Garrett and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist for Sloman Primary School. I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, decorating and organizing! I am a Douglas Alumnus - I went to Douglas Kindergarten through Twelfth Grade - Douglas is my home! I graduated from Douglas High School in May 1994. I went to Northeast Alabama State Community College where I received my Associate's Degree. I then spent the next 2 years at the University of Montevallo where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders with Minor in Sign Language and Deaf Studies. I continued my education at Alabama A&M University where I completed the Master's Degree program in Speech-Language Pathology. I currently hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) at the national level with ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) as well as an Alabama License through ABESPA (Alabama Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology) to practice Speech-Language Pathology. I have worked in the school system for 15 years. I have completed an internship at Horizon Elementary in Madison, Huntsville Hospital and outpatient services (children and Adults) and Boaz Rehabilitation Facility (Nursing Home). I chose the profession of Speech-Language Pathology because I was interested in helping people of all ages who had difficulty communicating with others. This is very much a helping profession! I truly enjoy working with the students that I serve!
I am married to Joel Garrett (also a Douglas Alumnus). We have been married for 15 years. We live in Albertville. We have 2 wonderful sons - Caden Scott age 13 and Carson Jackson age 11 years. They keep us very busy!! We are proud of our boys!
