Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Elaine Bridges
I have been employed with the Marshall County School System since 1992. I have worked as an instructional assistant in the classrooms, an ELL assistant and a computer lab assistant. When the NO Child Left Behind Act of 2001 was implemented, every instructional employee had to become highly qualified as stated in the act. In 2004 I was required to take and pass the Work Keys Assessment to become a highly qualified employee. I passed each area of the assessment with a score high enough to become nationally highly qualified.
I am currently working in the computer lab, teaching students in kindergarten, first and second grades. They come to the computer lab once a week, for 30 minutes. During their visits I work with them on learning how to use the computers correctly. Once they are familiar with the uses of computers, I work with them on concepts they are learning in the classroom and give them time to work independently with the computers. We will be using web sites that are fun and easy to use. I am very excited about this school year and working with the students.
I have been married to my husband, Tony, for over 39 wonderful years. I have two children and three grandchildren. My son is married and lives in Murfreesboro, TN. My daughter is a registered nurse, working as an Associate Professor of Nursing at UAH. My hobbies are photography, traveling, camping and spending time with my grandchildren. My favorite kind of travel is cruising. I try to cruise at least once a year. I enjoy outdoor photography and especially taking pictures of my grandchildren.
I am the President of the Marshall County Education Support Professionals.
