CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT

  • GUARDIANS OF GRADUATING SENIORS: You might be wondering what happens to your graduating senior's meal account balance. You can transfer the balance to a sibling, request a refund, or donate to a needy family IN OUR SCHOOL SYSTEM. Email partain.casey@marshallk12.org to transfer funds, request a refund, or donate. If you email requesting a refund, please include the child's name, person to make the check out to (if different than student), and a mailing address.  

  • PANDEMIC-EBT INFORMATIONThis is a multi-phase project that is expected to take several weeks to complete.  After May 31, 2020 households who did not receive P-EBT and believe that they were eligible and possibly omitted during the automation process, may contact DHR P-EBT Customer Service at:           1-800-410-5827 or email DHR with inquiries at:  PEBT@dhr.alabama.go

  1.  PHASE 1:  Families that are currently enrolled in SNAP and have a child receiving free or reduced-price school meals.

  2. PHASE 2:  Alabama children whose families are not currently active SNAP recipients but are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals based on the family's income.  Those recipients will receive their new P-EBT cards in the mail over the next few weeks.

  3. PHASE 3:  This group includes students who attend a community eligible school (Asbury) but are not otherwise income-eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.  Letters to this group have already been sent requesting them to verify certain information.  Once those verifications are returned to DHR, the new P-EBT benefits card will be sent on an ongoing basis over several weeks.

  • 2019-2020 SCHOOL MEAL APPLICATIONS:  If your income has changed and your student(s) was/were NOT already qualified for FREE school meal benefits prior to March 16, 2020,  please apply online as soon as possible. Students attending Asbury do not need to apply since all students received free meals for the school year 2019-2020.  These benefits will carry over for 30 days into next school year and may also qualify your student for additional benefits during the current school closure. You can apply at https://www.schoollunchapp.com and be sure to choose Marshall County School District.

  • YMCA SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM:  Free lunch will be provided 5 days a week (Monday - Friday) for the entire summer.  It will be first come, first serve. 

 Brindlee Mountain High School Campus 10:30 - 11:00

 Douglas High School Campus 11:30 - 12:00 

              Asbury Campus 12:45 - 1:15

 

ONLINE FREE AND REDUCED MEAL APPLICATIONS FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER 

JULY 1, 2020.
